All programs have as core the principle of Synergy.

Synergy, may be defined as two or more things functioning together to produce a greater result not independently obtainable.

The term synergy comes from the Greek word syn-ergos, συνεργός, meaning "working together".

Teams network and collaborate to communicate their vision and outcomes to another team member, who interprets and creates an individual canvas.

Methodology

The receiving team member creates the acrylic canvas based on the detail communicated by the other team member.

Teams brush up on their communication and specifically listening skills which is a form of artistic skill.  As Warren Buffet said, when he enhanced his skill of communication it had a profound influence on his nett worth.

Each individual will paint his/her own masterpiece which depicts and includes the “picture in mind” of another team member.  This illustrates how people, when truly listening and understanding can work together to create rewarding and powerful outcomes. . All they need is an “Approach of unity and creative strength in unity”. Each individual then will be challenged to create your own unique artwork.  The essential and exciting principle here (amongst many other) is that each person is on the “giving” as well as “receiving” end of communication and experiencing result of communication.

Armed with brushes, palette knives, paint & canvas, delegates discover that anything is possible if you have the desire, adequate planning and effective communication.  This is where the “effective communication “ approach is so important as delegates quickly realise that to succeed they will have to understand and learn true and sound communication skills (where LISTENING and UNDERSTANDING the other person is vital).  To co-operate rather than compete and to adopt a "One Team, One Goal, One Outcomes.

Outcomes & Assessment

Each team of 2 delegates are given an initial brief document where the “giver” communicates to the “receiver” what the desired artwork needs to look like/be.  After the communication regarding the painting, each delegate is positioned away from the other as to obscure the view from the other.  The painting delegate (“receiver”) is allowed 3 questions to the other as guidance along the way. When completed the “giver” evaluates the artwork according to the initial specific outcomes brief. Then the “giver” tells the audience what he/she wanted from the artwork in relation to look. feel, style etc. The “receiver” then reveals his/her artwork to the audience with feedback on what his/her teammate wanted.  The unveiling of their creation complete with pumping music and festive blow whistles. There will be cheers, applause from the audience and hugs and congratulations from the team members depicting the power of people successfully working together. The quality of work is good enough to be hung back in the office as a testimonial to cross functional teamwork and a unique reminder of a landmark event at your company OR auctioned off for charity.
